RETELEC SYSTEM trains in technology for energy management and photovoltaic self-consumption in COVAMA facilities

The brand has started a program of workshops on new business opportunities for installation professionals.

– Retelec System, specialists in efficient solutions for electrical systems, began a training plan in October to improve professionals' knowledge of photovoltaic self-consumption. The sessions held have been a success in participation by addressing a current topic, due to the journey that self-consumption has in the short, medium and long term, as an opportunity for professional installers.

With all the guarantees to guarantee the safety of the attendees, and complying with the health requirements in reference to Covid-19, the theoretical-practical workshops took place in Pinto, in the facilities that the electrical equipment distributor Covama has in this town. Madrid, where it has a practical training workshop and a technical department specialized in photovoltaics for the study of its clients' self-consumption projects.

Photovoltaic self-consumption: first identify the target audiences

The workshops have been given by Cristian Gallego, head of the Photovoltaics Department at RETELEC, who was able to highlight the reasons for installing photovoltaic solar panels. Whether due to energy savings and efficiency, environmental factors, available subsidies, or to revalue the properties, the RETELEC technician addressed the different types of self-consumption installations, the calculation and sizing of PV projects, and the target audiences to which that installers should address, among other topics.

The key to the RETELEC training program has been the use of real, connected equipment, with which to simulate a self-consumption installation, combining theory with a practical space: “With these sessions we want installers to lose their fear of self-consumption, and to photovoltaic installations in general. Our knowledge and portfolio are a guarantee to offer comprehensive projects to consumers,” says Gallego.

RETELEC SYSTEM will continue during 2020 with its initiative to train professionals in the sector. A program that trains installers and commercial technicians from warehouse-distributors to prescribe the brand's self-consumption solutions. As Cristian Gallego emphasizes: “it is not easy to stop the daily activity of a distributor and an installer, but at RETELEC we consider training as a key tool to increase the value of our service to the professional, providing competitive advantage and differentiation within the market. The training plan is basic to train and introduce new value-added products and systems that generate benefits for the installer.”
